The camera is calling again — and this time, I actually answered.
If you read last month's update, you know I spent a good stretch of this year negotiating a truce with my own knee, trading tripods for a "what if" journal and doing my best impression of a patient patient (still working on that one). But somewhere between physical therapy sessions, the itch came back. Slowly at first — a lens cap here, a test shot there — and then all at once.
Over the past couple of months, I've been easing back behind the camera in the best possible way. I ran another light painting workshop, and watching a new group of people fall in love with long exposures for the first time never gets old — it reminded me why I fell for this in the first place. I also stumbled onto (and photographed) an abandoned train that I'm still a little obsessed with — there's something about decay and stillness that light painting was made for.
I'm not going to pretend recovery is over or that I'm back at 100%. But I'm shooting again, I'm creating again, and honestly, that feels like the real milestone. More to come.
