Imaginoor in June 2026

Things have been a little quiet from me over the last few months — and for those who know me, you know that doesn't come naturally.

I reluctantly put down my camera and picked up my "what if" journal instead, using the time to dig into shelved projects I could work on from bed. As many of you may already know, I recently had reconstructive knee surgery. My family, friends, and colleagues will all tell you — I am an impatient patient. The slow pace of recovery has tested me in ways I didn't quite expect.

But I've also been surrounded by an extraordinary amount of kindness. To my family, my neighbors, and my friends who showed up, checked in, and carry me through this process — thank you doesn't feel like enough, but it's where I'll start. Big shout out to my physical therapy team at ATI. Your support has meant more than I can properly put into words.

I'm not fully back yet, but the camera is calling again. More soon.

Jeff Mcrum and I are excited to announce our next lightpainting workshop "Nocturnal Machines: A Night Photography & Light Painting Workshop" – your exclusive opportunity to dive deep into the captivating art of illuminating the darkness.

Nocturnal Machines: A nightphotography & lightpainting workshop

Have you ever looked at a stunning night photograph and wondered how they captured that incredible light, those vibrant colors, or those ethereal glowing shapes? The secret often lies in the magical world of light painting and long exposure photography.

And now, you have the chance to unlock those secrets!

This isn't just another photography class. This is an immersive experience designed to equip you with the skills, techniques, and confidence to create truly "organic" and breathtaking night images that rely on your artistic vision, not just heavy post-production. Here are some highlights from past workshops.

It’s finally here. Shift your imagination into high gear after dark! Still Plays With Cars is a 43-page coloring book that transforms real night-photography of abandoned vehicles into captivating line art. Perfect for kids, it blends the joy of coloring with the magic of light painting. Grab your copy on Amazon, step into the dark, and become a nocturnal artist!

Something special is happening this June in Lexington — and you won't want to miss it.

The Golden Cypress Gallery isn't your typical art space. Tucked into the heart of our community, it's a warm, informal venue built around one simple idea: celebrating the remarkable creative talent living right here in our own backyard. No corporate polish, no velvet ropes — just genuine art, genuine artists, and genuine connection.

This month, step inside and discover a diverse, stunning collection from four featured local artists. Whether a piece stops you in your tracks or quietly speaks to you across the room, this is the kind of show that reminds you why art matters..

Golden Cypress Gallery

4 Local Artists and their work. Come and meet the artists!

And here's something worth knowing: Golden Cypress operates as a completely commission-free space. Every dollar you spend goes directly to the artist who made the work. Not a cut to the gallery. Not a percentage skimmed off the top. All of it, straight into the hands of the person who created something worth owning.

So come by. Browse. Say hello to the artists. Maybe take something home.

The Golden Cypress Gallery — because great art deserves a community behind it.
