October 2022
Well hey there,
Now that most companies are taking this 'return to normal' a little too literally, I also have to join the ranks of sitting in traffic commuting to work. To most people's disbelief, the pandemic is NOT over.
I have been biking to work (while it's still warm enough). I pass the Irish Famine Memorial in Harvard Square everyday. The sculpture reminds me of Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. While listening to a friends song about the bond between two beings (Between Us by My Pet Dragon) I had a vision to lightpaint the sculpture and bring out the connection between the two figures.
I lightpainted the sculptures with 2 color temperature flashlights then lightpainted the lightning bolt with a pixlestick. The photo was published in the Boston Photography Club September newsletter :)
So my 2022 photo books will be available soon. I am running a limited edition of 21 of the most favored of my photos in a delightfully crafted 9” x 9” photo book. A perfect holiday gift for anyone interested in my night photography work. Get your order in early at my artstore
Thanks for reading. Keep in touch. Drop me a note some time. Always love hearing from you all.
Peace,
Shehab

Hi everyone,
I truly hope that you and your loved ones are doing well and that you are staying healthy and safe. These are uncertain times but we have believe that it will all be fine.
Love Wins. This is a special print to me because it reminds of celebration, friends, family and our civil rights. These are all things that we sometimes take for granted. I made this photo last year during Pride month in Seattle. It is a double exposure of an exposure mirrored on itself. T-shirt and prints are available at my Gallery Store and Amazon Store
Happy Father’s Day
to all of the papa bears out there!
I absolutely love being a dad. I am so grateful to be a part of my daughter's life. I savor every moment.
We have been in Shelter In Place for the last 3 months and I have been teaching my 3 year old colors, letters and numbers. She is amazing with colors and numbers (letters are a work in progress). Over the last few months, we have been learning our colors through lightpainting.
When she is behind the camera, she is very specific about what she wants to take a photo off. In front of the camera she loves to draw with her lights. No photo of hers would be complete without a dinosaur. Rrrrrroar!
I will dedicate the next set of my Triple Play Photos to Hope. #LifeIsNotCancelled! Here are the Triple Play Photos (most liked, shared and stuff...) from the last couple of months

Imaginoor in April - NOT another Covid newsletter
Hi everyone,
I truly hope that you and your loved ones are doing well, and that you are staying healthy and safe.
It is a strange time. Most of us have probably been asked to “shelter in place”, not going out except for essential things. I have been using this time to refine my craft of night photography and teaching myself a new photo editing software.
In these isolating times, I reflect on how my interest in photography became a passion. I met Jeff Mcrum back in my early days in New York. Social media says we’ve known each other since 2008 but our friendship is much older than that. We both worked together at a theater company called Desipina. While working on set designs, Jeff showed me some of his night photography work. I was fascinated by his mastery of low light photography in abandoned spaces link. I thought it was the coolest stuff I had ever seen.
One evening, he convinced me to go out with him to an abandoned building in New Jersey to try urban night photography. I was skeptical but intrigued. Jeff spent several hours patiently explaining his philosophies and principles of night photography. It was such an eye-opening night. Since then we have gone on many photo trips together.
Jeff has always been an inspiration to be a better photographer today than I was yesterday. He is a wonderful friend and makes a pretty good deep fried turkey.
I will dedicate the next set of my Triple Play Photos to Hope. Life Is Not Cancelled! Here are the Triple Play Photos (most liked, shared and stuff...) from the month of March.

We'll always have Paris
I flew to Las Vegas to meet up with Jeff. On my flight, I got an awesome view of Mount St Helens, Mount Hood and eventually the Vegas strip.
I was lucky get invited to the LDI Convention to see some amazing theater lighting technology with LOTS of lasers. Jeff introduced me to some really cool ideas that got me thinking about improvements to make on some of my lightpainting concepts.
And then it was play time. First stop, Fremont Street. I love this part of Vegas. We stumbled into a puppet show featuring a 30-foot animatronic ballerina…
… a flaming praying mantis and grabbing breakfast at the Fireside Lounge at the Peppermill. If you haven’t been you just have to go.
No Jeff and Shehab trip is complete without exploring what the desert has to offer under the night sky. I got to test out my prototype lightpainting spirograph tool.
This time, we found tunnels at the Hoover Dam, coyotes and the one rainstorm in the middle of the desert. I will be posting some of the amazing photos we made. Stay tuned :)
